Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) 3D printing service

LayerByLayer offers Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) prototyping and small batch production services. With our FDM 3D printing service, entire FDM parts can be built up to 400mm x 600mm x 800mm in size, with custom sizes and segmentation also possible. FDM 3D printed parts are used in both product development applications and additive manufacturing applications due to the robustness of the parts. ABS prototype parts are often used for initial fit and function testing of prototypes, but rarely when a smooth surface finish is critical due to the relatively thick build lines.

Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) printing is best suited for non-visible parts where the surface finish is not critical. FDM prototype parts are porous but can be sealed with various processes or chemicals. Sparse build technology can also be used to reduce the cost or weight of parts. LayerByLayer's FDM 3D printing service offers FDM parts in ABS, PCABS, PC, PC-ISO, PPSF and Ultem 9085, Ultem 1010.
